Getting started

Before you get behind the wheel you’ll need to be 17 and have a valid provisional licence. To get your provisional licence you can apply online or complete a D1 form which is available from your local post office.

You’ll need to send the completed form to the DVLA with proof of identity and a passport-sized photograph.
